A Sense of Humor Is Something We Learn.

Benefits of Silly All Over and On The Go Class One.
Silly All Over / “My sense of humor is developing and I can listen and follow directions.”
On The Go / ”I can move quickly and slowly and have creative ideas. “
These classes are adjustable to the child’s developmental growth, not their age.
Developing Steady Beat
Focused listening skills
Pretend Play
Expressive Moving
Hand Eye coordination
Developing phonemic awareness
Developing fine motor skill control
Establishing Ritual.
“When my kids were small we lived in a community where everyone sang.
We sang every day, all day... It was one of my favorite memories.
Carolyn Lucento of San Francisco’s Magical Movement Company said to me once..

"ANYONE CAN SING !
You have a voice
You have a heart
Sing....
It is really that simple."
My main objective in the classes I teach, is not about fame first.
It is always fun first.
Growing up in a family of musicians and artists,
I was on stage when I was four and performing professionally by the time I was 7.
I think that it was the silly fun my directors let us have off stage that made it tolerable...
Professional theater and performance art is fun, but it is WORK .
So I say "Lets keep it all fun and from the heart.."
...In time;  the rest will come.
We have years to get our first record deal or booking... right?
Ha ha...
Music is good for and from the heart...Not The head.
Sing Shine and live the life and love you want to be...

"I am struck by the fact that the more slowly trees grow at first, the sounder they are at the core, and I think that the same is true of human beings.
We do not wish to see children precocious, making great strides in their early years like sprouts, producing a soft and perishable timber, but better if they expand slowly at first, as if contending with difficulties, and so are solidified and perfected. Such trees continue to expand with nearly equal rapidity to extreme old age."

- Henry David Thoreau
Sense of Humor
A strong sense of humor helps children relieve stress, develop problem-solving skills, and strengthen developing social skills. is learning where things “belong”— putting things in the “wrong” spot can be a source for lots of laughs. Using things he or she is familiar with and changing them can be a great starting place for sense of humor. He or she may try to start saying funny things or telling jokes to make you laugh. Playing together with silly situations can provide a great place for your child to explore this developing skill.
HIgh and Low
Soft and Loud
Timber is a concept we share in both classes of Wiggles and Grow and Laugh and Learn.
Take time to review your home magazine. I would ask you all to read through the magazine and engage your child in the activities. They are written to enhance the lessons we share each week at Kindermusik Class. Plus they are so much fun. Playing the story and reading the story each week together will also be a great beginning for those interested in Tiny Tot Theater productions for the future..

Primary Perks for Infants &Toddlers.
 Early Music and Movement Programs
Early Childhood is a wonderful window of opportunity for music learning.
Music activities are not just fun - they are also a perfect way to help children
learn and grow.Music stimulates learning ,
lowers stress and advances memory , attention and brain development.
Combining music with movement creates now learning pathways in the brain while enhancing motor skills and muscles development.
Story time is a way of encouraging early literacy development and skills such as listening , sequencing, empathy, and anticipation.Gathering in a group to sing and play is positive way to lower inhibitions, build self-esteem, and foster a sense of inclusion. Group learning also helps children develop social skills such as turn taking and cooperation.
Repeating the lessons also give anyone a sense of self esteem.
Experts have found it beneficial for children to return to a setting which feels familiar .
As I mentioned in an earlier blog.. This is what children love.. Repetition.
They know what is coming next.. They love to read the same story over and over again and again.. or sing the same song over and over again and again.. to play the same games... it is all the same..
It is liberating for them and it is also great for their sense of self esteem.
So when we teach a Kindermusik lesson we return the next week
and review first, then we add one or two more components.
Rituals; Greeting and Goodbye
The predictability of rituals allows young children to relax into a new situation. When children are comfortable, they are better able to focus, engage and open themselves to learning.

Singing
Singing together is a natural way to invite children not the joyful world of expression, creativity and socialization. Singing allows children to express themselves, explore their voices and expand their growing sense of rhythm, melody and confidence.

Movement
Participating in a variety of creative movements, from the largest locomotor movements to the smallest fingerplays helps children develop coordination, rhythm, and neural pathways of learning.

Vocal Play
Playing and experimenting with the endless sounds the voice can make from pops and purrs to whistles and whirrs squeals and squishes to bumps and booms - helps children develop the vocal expressiveness and confident they will use in language and expression throughout their lives.

Instrument Exploration and Play
Playing instruments helps 2 and 3 year - olds practice fine motor skills and engage in creative problem solving , experiment with new sounds and rhythms and practice their emerging sense of steady beat .
Storytime = Imagination Time
When we introduce the story and theme each month we read it through the first lesson and second lessons. Then we follow up with puppet play and costume play for the children to learn the story and enact it. This is a great way for the student to foster the awareness of sounds and teaches language and pre reading skills. This is the core of our Tiny Tot Theater Program that also meets weekly at the center. ( Our last blog discusses the importance of reading to your child )
Focused Listening
This is my favorite of all the tasks we cover in class.
Listening activities that are brief, focusing attention on one sound at a time, Allow children to practice the skills of attention and careful listening..
Foundations of Learning
Why we teach music is ,mostly, because it is fun and it creates community.
The extra’s are the foundations of learning... In our next blog we will talk more about these foundations specific to your child’s development and relative age group. It is very exciting for me to watch these angelic beings take shape and grow into leaders of our communities...

I am so excited to see you all next Thursday, and thank you for making it at 1:30 rather then 1 PM. It makes a big difference for all of us. The 2 PM class will be right about at 2:15.  We would love a few more classmates for our friends in the 1:30 Class for 18 Months through age 3
And also the Laugh and Learn 3 to age 5 years at 2:15 right before this class.
Thank you all of you...
Tra La La.
See you soon
Love,
Miss Mana From The Muse.
